NHLC Care Team
Our Care Team provides compassionate care to those within our congregation. We are lay members who work to provide confidential care to our faith community. One of the most important parts of our response to God is using our gifts and talents to help others.
Prayer
We go before the Lord in prayer, knowing He is indeed in the midst of us,'guiding us, encouraging us, and loving us. Prayer is one of His gifts to us—an opportunity to both breathe in His presence and to lay before Him our deepest praises, concerns, and confessions. We do this individually and also as a gathered family. It is as a family that we gather, in our Prayer team, to go before the Lord with any of your concerns or praises.
You can request prayer in several ways:
- Write it down and place it in the offertory/prayer box
- Call the church office at 608-767-2247
- Send an email to: nhlc@tds.net

BeFriender Ministry
BeFriender Ministry meets the growing needs for pastoral care. At times, everyone is on a difficult journey and needs a caring companion to listen, emphathize, and be a reminder of a loving and supportive community. BeFrienders offer a one-on-one, non-judgmental listening presence to people in times of transition such as illness, death of a loved one, birth of a child, or a move to a new home.
For more information about the BeFriender Ministry, contact the church office at 608-767-2247 or coordinators Judy Nelson or Troy and Ruth Jacobson.
Ministries to Homebound
We are a church family of all generations, and yet some of our members are unable to join us regularly. Our ministries to the homebound provide a caring connection to our faith community.
- Communion - volunteers bring communion to those unable to commune at one of our worship
services. Volunteers go to homes, assisted-living facilities, and nursing homes once a month.
- Visiting Friends - Volunteers visit those homebound members who would appreciate a friendly visit
from a caring member of our faith community.
If you would like to request our Communion or Visiting Friends services, or would like more information on sharing your hospitality as a volunteer, email Ann Lindley or call her at 608-795-2741.
Meals for Families
- New Babies and Families in Need - As a faith community we stand together in the highest of highs
and lowest of lows. Providing meals to families during these times in a simple gift that can be a great blessing. Coordinators are Auna Nelson or Ann Lindley.
Wisconsin Heights Knitters
For those who are ill or grieving, a prayer shawl surrounds them with God's presence and the warmth of knowing someone cares and is praying for them.
If you know of someone who would benefit by the love and warmth of a prayer shawl, or would like to knit with the group, contact Nancy Stoller at 608-767-2243.
